New Student Admissions

Choosing the right school for your child is an important decision. At Brixham Montessori Friends School, we partner closely with families to ensure a thoughtful and mutual match- one that supports each child’s development and aligns with your family’s values and hopes.

Step 1: Schedule an Introductory Visit

We invite prospective parents and caregivers to schedule an introductory visit to observe the school in session.

During your visit, you will:

  • Observe Montessori classrooms in action

  • Learn more about our programs and philosophy

  • Speak with a member of the admissions team

  • Ask questions and explore whether Brixham feels like the right fit for your family

Step 2: Submit an Application

Families who wish to continue the process are asked to submit a completed application.

  • Application deadline: January 15

  • Late applications may be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on enrollment needs

At Brixham, admissions is a collaborative and individualized process. We take care to understand each child and family as a whole.

Step 3: Child Visit

Once an application is received, children are invited to visit the school and spend time with classroom teachers.

  • Toddler & Primary (ages 2–6):
Visits typically last about 30 minutes and take place in January and February.

  • Elementary (ages 6–10):
Visits are scheduled during regular school hours and are designed to feel like a typical school day.

These visits allow teachers to observe the child in a classroom setting and provide an opportunity for meaningful conversation with parents about the child’s strengths, interests, and developmental needs.

Admissions Decisions

Admissions decisions are communicated in writing to each applicant.

A child may be:

  • Accepted

  • Not accepted

  • Offered placement in a waiting pool

If a child is accepted, a non-refundable tuition deposit of 10% is required to secure a place in the class.

We are currently:

  • Accepting late applications for the Elementary Program for the 2025–2026 school year

  • Accepting on a rolling basis late applications for all programs for the 2026–2027 school year as space permits. Currently we have a waiting pool for the 2025-2026 academic school year in both the primary and toddler program.

Tuition Agreements

Families who accept enrollment and submit a tuition deposit will receive a tuition agreement outlining:

  • Tuition rates

  • Payment options

  • Contract terms

A signed tuition contract is required to finalize enrollment.

Admission Criteria & Non-Discrimination Policy

Admission decisions are made by the Admissions Team in consultation with classroom teachers, with careful attention to the needs of each child and the composition of the classroom community.
