Traditions Dear to Our Hearts

hayride 1It’s fall and the season has kicked off with two traditions dear to our hearts: the BMFS Family Barn Dance and Dessert Potluck and the BMFS Family Pumpkin Hayride. We were not disappointed- folk musician, Dudley Laufman came with his band to lead us in a good, old-fashioned contra dance where children as young as two and three years swung their partners, stomped their feet and dosey-doed (well, sort-of). Parents mixed and mingled, sometimes dancing with their children and sometimes dancing among themselves, and we all enjoyed the assortment of delicious treats that followed. Best of all, Brixham alums in the prime of their middle school years, raced in and out as they caught up with their old friends and said hello to teachers they’ve know for most of their lives! More fun was had at Zach’s Farm where for the 15th year, families sat upon hay bales and soaked up the late October sunshine for a slow, bumpy ride along the York river to the pumpkin patch. Join us on Saturday, November 7th as we start a new tradition, the 1st annual fall fest. All are welcome! Click here for more information, Fall Festival
